H&P Project Updates: eDesign LR Refresh
Just nearing the finish line of an eDesign project I’ve been working on for the past several months. Items are slowly rolling in and being delivered; and just today, we installed my very first Custom designed Furniture/Media Console. It was an incredibly surreal experience to sketch it on a piece of paper and then see it come to life, even better than imagined- but it did. And today was a much needed, uplifting moment for my mojo- cause I’ve been feeling ‘inspired but tired’ like Valfre. I’ve designed Kitchens, Bathrooms, and as of recently a platform bed that needed to be retrofitted to a standard height for sleeping, but with a medium headboard to fit a window- we couldn’t find anything that fit the bill, so we had it custom made. It turned out gorgeous! Of course, all of that was a great experience, and I was thrilled with the outcome…but somehow this felt a little different. The process was similar in the amount of work that goes into detailing the exact measurements, placement of certain features, finishes, materials, etc., but this one came right from the brain and the heart and thanks to an incredibly talented and awfully patient team, appeared- poof, like magic, brought to life. I know it’s not magic- it’s a crap ton of work and skill coming from my guys. See below, original mock up.
Barring a couple of OUT OF STOCK items that need replacements, I can happily add that this project, thus far, has actually progressed in a similar way (fingers crossed) with even the Mood Board proving to be a fantastic representation of what it’s ‘supposed’ to look like according to ‘the vision’. We all know, however, that in real life things don’t always turn out like that…lucky for me and the beautiful family I’ve been working for- it totally has! Yassss, sugar! ;)
I will share more of this project once all the pieces come in, so you can enjoy it , too. We still have more accessories and goodies to shop for and style, and the chairs are in transit. Do you recognize the pillow fabric from earlier this month?
A side note about eDesign: Every Designer works a little differently, of course. As for me- I am very hands on and I like to treat my projects with the same attention to detail regardless of whether I am working for a Client in a FULL SERVICE capacity or VIRTUALLY. It’s not a wham bam thank you ma’am (sorry, I couldn’t find a more appropriate catch phrase) type of service. I feel like it has organically evolved into me being a part of the process every step of the way- even into installation and afterwards. Because of that, I’ve had an opportunity to bring true value to my Clients. Not just in designing their rooms and “picking pretty things” for them, but also in being an integral part of making sure all aspects of the project are handled professionally, and thoroughly, while making a beautiful, finished space accessible, as well as, attainable.
I can hardly stand the excitement of the room finally coming together! I’m sure the Homeowners feel the same way.
